One of the city’s most ancient edifices (1332) prior to the Chioggia war (1379-80), it served as community granary and, until the last century, it originally stood on 64 columns.

On its façade we may view an aedicule with an image of the Virgin with Child, a work attributed to Jacopo Sansovino (1485-1570).
